Finding the digital marketing company for you at times can be difficult. Knowing how much to pay, discovering the strengths and weakness of the company when it comes to designing, and setting realistic deadlines are all logical worries. Here are 4 things you should look for and educate yourself on before hiring a team.
Pricing– Pricing for services will vary from company to company. However, knowing the average rate will help you to determine whether the company is capable of creating your content, if they truly are professionals or amateurs, and if they are under or over charging you.
Charging less of an amount can show lack of knowledge of market pricing, which can also be a sign of incapability to create, design or functions in a professional manner. It can also be a clear indicator of lack of confidence to deliver. In contrast, charging too high of an amount for a project may be a sign of over-promising; creating a unrealistic idea or notion that has too many moving parts which cause delays in completion time, causes deadline issues, and ultimately causes project issues. Be cautious of overpromising companies. Ask for details in writing.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. It is the foundation that the company is built upon. If a company doesn't pride itself on great products and customer service, chances are, they may not take pride in what they create for you. Ask the company, "What is your mission statement?" If they positively respond and state it, you probably have a good company in front of you. If they don't? You may want to go with another company. (See our mission statement on the "mission statement" page).
Company Reviews –Reviews. Reviews are the opinions of the companies and individuals that have previously hired or worked with the design team you are considering. These reviews are insight tools that can help you make a decision to hire or scout a different digital marketing firm. For example, Google.com has business reviews (if the company has opted to accept and receive reviews).
Positive feedback illustrates that the customer was pleased with the final product. Negative feedback, while not positive, is also a very important tool. Negative feedback conveys to the company areas of improvement. In any case, check reviews if possible to get a glimpse of your potential design teams, strengths, weakness, and reputational attributes. Check out our Google reviews on our "Reviews" page.
Communication - Proper communication. Without it, we are just a bunch of people trying to accomplish an impossible feat. Communication is necessary to understand what and why we are doing something. If you are given deadlines that are consistently missed, design errors or misunderstood instructions, chances are, there is a communication issue between team and client. During your consultation, pay close attention to how the team communicates with each other. This is a direct illustration of how they will communicate with you.
